Tracking the World's Hot Spots: "Russia and North Korea"

Event Details

For those of us who do not live in the Twitter world, there are other sources of information and concern. We’ll kick off Hot Spots in September with a dual emphasis.

  • Russia has not only invaded our cyber world, but it dominates the attention of the President, Congress, and much of the U.S. government. What are the issues? What are our options going forward?
  • North Korea: the hermit kingdom appears to rebuff all efforts to reign in its nuclear weapon ambitions. Though solutions seem to elude us, how do the several players (the U.S., South Korea, North Korea, China, Japan, and Russia) view the issue; what are their most important concerns?

Join Cedarburger and retired US diplomat John Katzka as he discusses these topics. No registration required.

Tracking the World's Hot Spots is a monthly talk focusing on one specific "Hot Spot" each program. The World's Hot Spots series will kick off this September and continue monthly on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 6:30 pm (with some exceptions such as December and March). The series also takes a break in the summer months. Discussion locales will be announced prior to each program date. They are led by Cedarburger and retired US diplomat John Katzka. No registration is required.
